Walking
It is possible to do many walking routes, with different levels of difficulty.
You can go down to the old water mills, to the gold mines (Las Miedulinas), to the pre-roman village Corona de Murcia, or the Blacksmiths in Compludo. If you prefer something more challenging, you can go up Silla de la Yegüa (2135 m) or El Becerril (1876 m), among others.
On the first Saturday in June, a local mountain club organises a hike which follows the Aquilianos mountain range, and is recommended for those who love trekking. For more information, visit the website. www.rutasdelbierzo.com
If you want to tour El Bierzo on foot, La Mirada Circular, a project for sustainable tourism, has designed 15 routes which complete the circle around the region. www.lamiradacircular.com
You can also go mountain biking and pony trekking.
If you like skiing, 18 km from Espinoso is the ski resort of El Morredero, which although small, will allow you to enjoy a weekend on the slopes. www.elmorredero.com
For nature lovers, Compludo is an area with a great variety of wild life and in the nearby surroundings you can find the bird reserve of Palacios de Compludo, perfect for those interested in bird watching. www.tytoalba.es
And if after a day of activities you want to relax, we also have a small library, newspapers, magazines, board games, films, and the internet (wifi connection for laptops).
